Cost: Medicare and Medicaid, and most insurance plans cover hospice services. Hospice of Northeast Missouri provides services to those without insurance coverage and the ability to pay.

Eligibility Criteria: The terminal diagnosis must be certified by a physcian and the patient must be agreeable to palliative, or comfort care.

Description of Services and Other Information:
Hospice care is an end of life care option that provides the terminally ill and their loved ones comfort, compassion, and dignity. The hospice team of nurses, aides, chaplain, social worker and volunteers make scheduled visits through the week. The medications, medical supplies and therapies necessary to care for the patient are also included.

Transportation: Can provide transportation to doctors and shopping through OATS. The agency has limited resources for Client Reimbursed Transportation covering non-emergency medical trips only.
Legal Services: Resolution of non-criminal legal matters and protection of legal rights
Ombudsman Program and many other programs available.
Provides information and assistance services to caregivers, family members and seniors. Gives access to state and local organizations serving the elderly and disabled.

and many other programs available including health screenings, outreach, silver haired legislature, public education and information.
Enhanced information and assistance which assists seniors and caregivers with one on one service.

Home Health visits to homebound persons in need of skilled nursing care are made under the supervision of a physician. Visits are made after a hospital stay and to persons with chronic ailments such as diabetes, stroke, cancer and heart problems as well as persons with communicable diseases. We provide Medicare, Medicaid and insurance certified Home Health Nursing, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, and Home Health Aide Services.

Information and referral source, peer and support groups, independent living training, and advocacy for persons with disabilities. Provide support for disabled individuals who do not have adequate housing conditions. Also provides a peer support groups conducted by staff members, who all have a disabling condition.
*An assistive technology outreach center provides resources and funding information as well as hands-on demonstrations of assistive devices and equipment. Independent Living Specialist help persons with disabilities learn specific skills they need to live as independently as they wish.
*The Personal Care Assistance Program helps those with physical disabilities find and train their own personal care attendants
