Eligibility Criteria: Any women, child or man who has experienced domestic or sexual violence, either recently or in the past is eligible for our services.
Description of Services and Other Information: We have a hotline that is staffed 24/7 for both information and support of victims of domestic and sexual violence and their friends and family. We have an emergency shelter for women and their children. We shelter male victims in a motel. Description of Services and Other Information: Legal Services of Eastern Missouri(LSEM) provides free legal assistance and equal access to justice to low-income people. LSEM handles family, housing, consumer, education, immigration, health and public benefits, income maintenance, and older adult civil(not criminal) cases. Specifically, the Special Projects Unit(SPU) within LSEM primarily assists people living with HIV/AIDS in overcoming barriers to accessing healthcare. Priority cases in Special Projects Units include: social security disability benefits, Medicare/Medicaid appeals and other issues, Veterans benefits, wills, durable powers of attorneys and health care directives, private health insurance matters, medical privacy/confidentiality, family and medical leave act issues, consumer matters(bearing directly on one's health), and employment matters which bear directly on ability to access affordable healthcare. SPU is available to do community education for service providers, and the larger community concerning SPU services, disclosure and other legal issues and "know your rights" education.

Home delivered meals 5 days per week extra meals available for evenings and weekends (depending on need) In-Home Services help senior remain in home through personal care, Respite and homemaker / chore services Transportation: Can provide transportation to doctors and shopping through OATS. The agency has limited resources for Client Reimbursed Transportation covering non-emergency medical trips only. Legal Services: Resolution of non-criminal legal matters and protection of legal rights Ombudsman Program and many other programs available. Provides information and assistance services to caregivers, family members and seniors. Gives access to state and local organizations serving the elderly and disabled.

Description of Services and Other Information: Safe House – allows victims safe shelter from violent situation (30 day suggested length of stay) Sexual Violence Advocacy - advocate will meet survivor at the emergency room or police station to immediately help survivor with technical details and immediate needs Crisis Line – access to trained personnel to offer support, resources and referral 24 hours a day, seven days a week Individual Counseling – therapy to help victims eliminate violence from their lives and achieve stated goals Support Group – address presenting issues using group dynamics Public Speaking - trained speakers give presentations on domestic violence, sexual assault, or our services Referral Service - coordination of area resources to help client find housing, job, legal services, etc. Legal Advocacy – assistance in obtaining orders of protection, legal services, support through all legal proceedings including trials and victim impact statements Case Management – ensure coordination of client needs with community resources Victim Advocacy – provide support to all victims of violent crimes as liaison support with all referral agencies utilizing all services available throughout the community Social Service Advocacy – provide support by serving as a liaison between community agencies and victims Life Skills Training – teaching of basic skills to achieve client’s life goals through better use of resources Post Shelter Support – continuation of the availability and consistency of services available to sheltered clients upon leaving the safehouse
